The Flying Gypsies began at a Bon Fire party at Frank & Deb Ogborn's home at the Flying Ten airport in 2001. Joining in with front man "Rock-n-Roll" Frank that night was true gypsy Patti Flewelling and Mike Burke. The original "core" the "Gypsies 3" began a musical collaboration that has grown to become one of the most entertaining cover groups around.

Joining the group next was bassist, Frank Varosi "Frankie V". This group performed its first club gig as the "Flying Gypsies" at Emeralds Lounge in Gainesville, Florida. From there, keyboardist Henry Raimato, and lead guitarist Rick Brawner have joined the group to fill out the sound, along with drummer Larry Thompson. In addition to strong instrumental skills the group's range of vocal abilities and sweet harmonies have become a trademark.
